Low Embodied Carbon with Wood Framing at Scale | Wagdy Anis Symposium 2022

October 6, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 6:00 pm

Join us at BSA Space on October 6, 2022 for the third symposium held in honor of Wagdy Anis FAIA. This year’s theme is: “The Sustainable Building Enclosure: Balancing Energy Performance and Durability with Other Building Life Cycle Goals.” Key to the sustainability of a building is the ability of its enclosure to minimize operational greenhouse gas emissions by conserving energy.

This in-person symposium will address strategies for design, detailing and material selection of the building enclosure to optimize its contribution to sustainable goals throughout the life cycle of a building.

Bruner/Cott’s Christopher Nielson is presenting a case study on Low Embodied Carbon with Wood Framing at Scale from 11:00am – 12:45pm, featuring data collected from Hampshire College’s R.W. Kern Center and a proposed study at the Aliki Perroti + Seth Frank Lyceum, currently under construction at Amherst College.

Christopher is joined by Jacob Racusin, Nikki Byl, and Diana Andrea Brito Picciotto.
