As the center for community activities at Seattle Pacific University, the New Hall is designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, including theater, concerts, audio-visual media, and lectures. The Hall will seat approximately 1,100 patrons on the orchestra floor, in parterre along the sides and in a single balcony with side balconies. Each seat will have unobstructed views of the entire platform. The platform will comfortably accommodate a full orchestra of 90 musicians when the platform extensions are in place. Above the orchestra is seating for a large choir in the upper balcony.

The New Hall will have exceptional acoustic qualities and will be a stunning venue for a full range of performances. Great care has been taken to ensure the proper shaping of the walls and ceilings to provide exactly the proper acoustic reflections that will yield warmth and clarity for every type of venue, from classical concerts to contemporary shows; and from piano solos to full choral performances. The room has a complete system of sound-absorbing curtains that can be extended or retracted to alter the reverberation time of the space, and to modulate the sound energy within the room. The choice of wood for many of the internal surfaces conveys a sense of intimacy and warmth.
