About the Kern Center

The R.W. Kern Center is a multi-purpose Living Building that was designed to meet the ILFI’s rigorous Living Building Challenge, the most advanced green-building standard in the world. The facility is net-positive, generating its own energy, capturing and treating its own water, and processing its own waste.
