Climate action projects on campuses address crucial issues such as environmental resilience, recovery, and justice, which can be knit into curricula and academics, strengthening the civic and academic missions of institutions. Following its roots as an experimental institution intent on transforming higher education through critical inquiry, in 2011 Hampshire College developed and committed to an ambitious mission to become carbon neutral. We will discuss how Hampshire College plans to inspire generations of leaders and planners to develop solutions for a positive, sustainable future.
BCA Principal Jason Jewhurst will be leading this presentation at the SCUP North Atlantic Regional Conference on Monday, March 5, 2018. Joining him will be Todd Holland and Steve Roof of Hampshire College.
