This iconic historic mill complex brought precision engineering to mass production in the United States. The renovation of several buildings into apartments and commercial space is now underway. Reordered site circulation integrates a series of strong, protected outdoor spaces with pedestrian movement through office buildings, along the Charles River, and within a vast residential courtyard. A restaurant and café animate the site at the start of a continuous river walk through Waltham.

Minimalist detailing marks new entrances, restoring the original approaches from Crescent Street.
