Bruner/Cott worked with Mount Auburn Cemetery during a master planning phase to identify properties near the cemetery that could have strategic value for expansion. We designed a new facility combining workshops, offices, and housing for caretakers within the exact envelope of an existing structure, retaining the building’s non-residential designation.

Sustainable design features include radiant heating in floor slabs for all types of occupancy, solar domestic water heating, and a high level of recyclable and rapid growth materials. Lighting and HVAC controls are designed to conserve energy.
